My Year Living On Food Storage: The Official Rules

OK so those of you that read this blog regularly (Hi Mom) know that this month's challenge  was to live of your food storage for one week.  Could be a serious challenge for some of us right?  Anyway  I found this blog about a family of 8 who lived for more than six months on their food storage (BY CHOICE) what a great way to learn about what we should be storing and how to use it.  I'm so excited to read all of her posts.  I'm sharing the one where she lists the rules they set up for themselves (see below). 

Even more exciting she wrote down the recipes.  Eating Food Storage Recipes  I loved one comment she makes about how her family stared eating for fuel instead of fun because there was a lot of trial and error involved in their recipes.  It definitely made me want to experiment more now so that I don't end up eating "yucky" in the event of an emergency.   - speaking of this week I'm trying baking in a wonder oven and Patty is using wheat berries.  I'll paraphrase her response to that, I now know that in an emergency I do not want to have to live off of wheat berries.  Maybe she'll write a post about her experience.  Right now I'm kind of feeling the same way about the wonder oven but I'll keep experimenting.
