The Girl Scouts of Utah are planning weekly meetings for girls as an introduction to scouting. They need volunteers to serve as leaders for this five-week program. Lesson plans and materials will be provided along with a brief training before the session starts. Volunteers needed to become a Big Brother or Big Sister and impact the lives of children in our military community. Volunteers do not replace the deployed parent, but rather provide another mentor to the child by setting a good example, doing fun activities and encouraging the development of positive social, academic and life skills. Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah is looking for a home delivery team to volunteer only once per month delivering food boxes to six homes in the Canyon Cove area. CCS is also gearing up for the annual Postal Workers Food Drive on Saturday, May 12, where volunteers are needed at Ogden area post offices to receive donations as the mail carriers return from their routes.
