Chocolate Chip Cookies, using dried dairy products and shortening.

1 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 T. dried whole egg
1/4 cup water
2 T. reconstituted dry milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups fine whole wheat flour
2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Mix ingredients in first seven ingredients until combined.  (Shortening will be in small lumps.)   Mix dry ingredients together, blend into shortening mixture.  Add chocolate chips and nuts.  Drop by tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes.  Makes 3 dozen.
