Civic Responsibilities


Jan Zogmaister has been called to be our new Stake  Civic Responsibilities Specialist. She has provided the following important information:


CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES

This is your opportunity to participate in the process of seeking honest and wise leaders. 
D&C 98:10 Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil.
First gather information and second vote your conscience.

WEBER COUNTY COMMISSION DEBATE will be sponsored by
Weber County Republican Women. This primary  election June 28th is a very important election because the winner of this primary will be our next Weber County commissioner. This race will not be on the November ballot.

Information and Dates To Remember from Weber County Elections department 

REPUBLICAN PRIMARY
Republican – Closed Primary Only registered Republicans may vote in the Republican Primary Election. All active voters registered as Republicans will receive this ballot. Voters affiliated with other parties may not switch parties after May 31st and be allowed to vote a Republican ballot. Unaffiliated voters may join the Republican Party up through Election Day and receive a ballot.

  • May 31 – Last day to mail in a registration form.
  • May 31 – Last day voters can change their party affiliation and be eligible to vote in a closed primary. For example: A Libertarian switching to a Republican. Unaffiliated can still affiliate with a party after that date.
  • June 7 – First group of ballots mailed.
  • June 21 – Last day to register in person or online to vote. Last day an unaffiliated voter may affiliate with the Republican Party and receive a by mail ballot.
  • June 23 – Last day by mail ballots will be sent out.
  • June 27 - By mail ballot postmark deadline.
  • June 28th – Primary Election Day, polls open at 7am and close at 8pm.

DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY
Democratic – Open Primary Any registered voter may request a Democratic ballot, there is no requirement to join the Democratic Party. All registered Democrats will receive this ballot, other registered voters may request to receive a Democratic ballot as well. A Democratic ballot can be requested by going to www.voter.utah.gov, by calling our office at 801-399-8034, or by email at register@weberelections.com
