This feels like a preparedness recipe to me, don't you just love recipes for something you would get in a restaurant or regularly buy at the store (although this sounds too yummy for store bought!)
Caramel Buttermilk Syrup
1 1/2 C buttermilk
1 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
1/2 cup butter not margarine
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
In a LARGE saucepan, bring buttermilk, sugars and butter to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and whisk in soda and vanilla. It will bubble up a lot! As it cools the bubbles will go away. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
