Spaghetti and Breadsticks

Here’s a really easy "food storage" meal that is a regular menu item at our house.

Spaghetti and bread sticks

We have both home canned and store bought sauce in the storage room and a bin full of spaghetti noodles.  Adding a little hamburger from the freezer makes for a more filling dinner.  We store raw hamburger in Ziploc baggies ( I will now be flattening it out - great idea) but also cooked hamburger that I’ve frozen on cookie sheets and then put into baggies (this saves a few minutes when you need a quick meal).  Recently I bought a 12 pack of Parmesan cheese on Amazon and so now we have to get to eat it on everything.

Breadstick recipe
1 Tbsp yeast                         1 Tbsp Honey
1 ½ cups warm water       1 tsp salt
3 to 4 cups of flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water.  Stir in remaining ingredients and let rise 10 min.  Knead (I use my kitchen aid for a few minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic).  Roll out on a cookie sheet.   Spread with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese.  Use a pizza cutter to cut into strips.  Let rise 10 minutes.  Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
