My kids like to make dinner (and I"m NOT complaining about this), my ten year old is especially adventurous and will try just about anything. Tonight she decided on chicken noodle soup but she made it very kid friendly and though I probably would have liked the extra veggies it was delicious.
Here are are few of the ingredients we used but eating was more important than picture taking |
(for a big family)
2 pints canned chicken
10 cups water
10 chicken bouillon cubes (or 2 Tbps instant chicken bouillon)
abt 1/4 cup dried onion flakes
abt 10 chopped baby carrots (or you could use canned or frozen)
2 cups uncooked egg noodles
*stuff in the recipe that she did not like the looks off,
4 medium chopped stalks of celery (maybe freeze dried?)
Combine all ingredients in large pan, heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover, simmer until carrots are tender and noodles are cooked, about 15 minutes. (If you are using fresh noodles you will need to add them closer to the end of your cooking time), sprinkle with snipped parsley if desired.
Note to self, don't take pictures of soup in a green bowl, it looks strange even if it was really yummy. |
