March Share Fair

1. share fair  SHer/  fer/ noun  a meeting of like minded folks who share a desire to exchange the excess paraphernalia (stuff)currently residing in their abodes, or in the vicinity of said abodes.

   "At the share fair we give away our extra and go home with fun new treasures".

   
   

   All excess will be loaded into a trailer bound for Deseret Industries on Friday morning.

   
   

   
   

   When:  Thursday March 12, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm*

   
   

   *if you need to drop off stuff earlier in the day, you can just leave if outside the doors

   
   

   
   

   Where:  The "original" building (LDS meeting house on the corner of 4000 S and 3900 West)

   
   

   What:  Clean, gently used items, for example; clothing, (especially scouting items) books, household items, please nothing too heavy , unless you plan on coming back to get it at 7:30 pm (if it doesn’t get taken)

   
   

   Cost: NONE, bring what you don’t want, take what you need, everything else will be given to the DI

Share Fair & Service Project - Kanesville Stake

Share Fair

In conjunction with the Kanesville Stake DI Drive we will have a

Share Fair and a Service Project.

Date:  Thursday Oct 17, 2013

Time: 3pm – 7pm

Location:  The original building (LDS church on 4000 S and 3900 W) across from the Catholic Church.

What:  For the Share Fair, Bring you gently used clothing and household items that you with to donate.  Take home any items that you or your family could use.  * anything left will be donated to Deseret Industries (DI)

For the Service Project:  We will be collecting items for and assembling snack bags for transient services office.  This office works with transients in our area seeking assistance.  Many times people come in with their children and while the Bishops storehouse has a wide array of food items, they do not have snacks.  Anyone who has tried to do anything with children knows how helpful snacks can be, so please donate.  We are asking each ward to donate a minimum of 200 of each item.  (Not 200 boxes but 200 individual fruit snacks etc.)  If you are not LDS but would like to participate please bring your items to the church during the share fair or if you are comfortable talk to your LDS neighbor about what you could bring together.

In conjunction with our DI Drive, 

the Stake Relief Society will host a clothing and book Share Fair.

Bring your gently used items to the Original Building

Thursday, March 14^th between 3:00 and 8:00 PM

And then take home anything your family can use or wants.
Invite your neighbors.

A bit more explanation:
As part of our service project last October, we had members bring clothing items they no longer needed or wanted.  We then let members of our stake come take whatever they could use.   This seemed to be appreciated by many stake members.

Our stake Deseret Industries Drive will be March 11th through the 16th. The DI trailer will be at the Original Building for that week.  (You can bring anything you would normally take to the DI and put it in the trailer). 

As part of this drive, we are asking members to bring any unwanted clothing and books to the gym of the original building on Thursday, March, 14th between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00 to share with anyone who could use them.  Whatever is left will be placed in the trailer or given to a local charity.   (You should know that most of the local charities, Deseret Industries, Catholic Community Services, Your Community Connection work together to help look out for our brothers and sisters in the area)

I'll be at the gym that Thursday and will welcome anyone who wants to come and help out, organizing, unloading and then loading into the trailer at the end (visiting, helping people shop . . .).  

This is a nice way to share with others and update your wardrobe or outfit your clan  without damaging your budget, please let your neighbors know in case they would like to drop by too.

We are having a Stake wide Relief Society activity in October.

Wednesday Oct 10th from 3pm to 8pm we will kick it off with a Share Fair, we will be "sharing"  clothing, housewares, art and school supplies and toys in good condition.  You are invited to bring your shares and take some home with you too. 
The next day will be the Service project (Thursday Oct. 11^th from 6 to 9pm)  We will have the opportunity to participate in:  preparing quilts, sorting clothes, packing hygiene kits and school supplies.  There will be something for everyone and everyone is needed.

Mark your calendars, gather your supplies and come join the fun.

Wednesday Oct. 10^th – 3-8pm – at the Original bld (the red brick building on 4000 where the Regal Country Ward meets).
Thursday Oct. 11^th – 6-9pm – same location

Speaking of supplies . . . a great big thank you to all who donated school supplies, Patty was able to take a first batch over to the Food bank for their back to school Backpack Bonanza!
Keep an eye out for next month’s donation request, we will be collecting hygiene kit items.
